We provide continuing care for a broad range of medical problems. We cover all ages from conception, birth, and childhood, right up to adulthood and old age.

We provide specialised care for males and females and are trained to deal with issues specific to either sex.

Comprehensive Health Screen Assessment

This health screen includes the following:

• lifestyle questionnaire
• physical examination
• blood test, including cholesterol levels
• ECG

You first attend the nurse for testing and are then reviewed with the results of your tests and will receive a full report at the end of the screening.

Sexually Transmitted Infection Screening

We offer this checkup  for men and women. Our experienced doctors will deal with any of your concerns in a non-judgemental way.

• a sexual health questionnaire
• blood tests – for HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and Syphilis
• urine test or swabs - for chlamydia and gonorrhoea

Cervical Screening

Cervical screening tests women for changes in the cells of the cervix (neck of the womb) using a smear test.

Early detection and treatment of changes in the cells of the cervix can prevent cervical cancer.

The test is recommended every 3-5 years for all women between the ages of 25 and 60, and is free of charge when arranged as part of Cervical Check, Ireland's national screening programme. Please book an appointment with any of our female doctors.

Men's Health

We offer advice and expertise on a wide range of health issues, including:

• Erectile dysfunction
• Loss of libido
• Prostate related symptoms

We will deal with all of your concerns in a sensitive and non-judgemental manner.

Women's Health

We have a strong team of doctors available to advise you on all aspects of Women's Health, including:

• Contraception including Mirena coil and implanon fitting
• Emergency contraception 
• Family planning
• Fertility
• Menopause
• Cervical smears 
• Antenatal and postnatal care to all expectant and new mothers under the Maternity and Infant Scheme.

Cryotherapy Skin Lesion Clinic

Cryotherapy is a well established method of removing a variety of unwanted skin lesions. Cryotherapy involves the use of liquid nitrogen which, when applied to certain skin lesions, "freezes" them off.

Occupational Health Service

The practice provides a comprehensive Occupational Health service to many local organisations, including:

• Pre-Employment Screening
• Health Assessments
• Absentee Assessments
• Rehabilitation Programmes
• On site Vaccination Programmes.

We also offer the following services in Stillorgan Medical Centre:

Vaccinations

• Primary Immunisation Schedule
  • recommended for all newborns in Ireland.
• Chickenpox Vaccine
  • Available for children > 12 months. Two injections required 1 months apart. Can be given with routine 12 and 13 month immunisations. 
  • Fees applies (not covered by HSE immunisation schedule)
• Vaccines and Pregnancy
  • Flu vaccine - the flu vaccine is inactive and can be given safely at any time during pregnancy.
  • Whooping cough (Pertussis) vaccine - recommended between 16 and 36 weeks of pregnancy. This is considered the best time in pregnancy to provide protection for the baby during the first few months of life.
• "Flu" vaccine
  • we recommend this every autumn if you are elderly or have heart, lung or kidney disease, or diabetes. A useful precaution too if you are involved in important exams or don't want your holiday time ruined!
• Pneumococcal vaccine
  • this vaccine is available to all patients over the age of 65 years, and should be considered in those under 65 who have long term illnesses.  
• Varicella Zoster (shingles) vaccine
  • this vaccine is not part of the routine immunisation schedule, but anybody over the age of 50 years may choose to be immunised. It is very worthwhile protection against debilitating side effects of Shinges.

Ear Syringing

If your hearing has been affected by a build up of wax, please contact us to arrange ear syringing. Ideally put olive oil in your ears to soften the wax for three nights prior to the procedure .
